NAB Objectives

The main objective of the NAB is to work with its stakeholders to scale impact, by bringing purpose and capital together in order to address barriers. Monitoring the main (capital) gaps in achieving the SDGs, the NAB will be guided by 4 strategic objectives leveraging the various roles to be played by its stakeholders.

ECOSYSTEM BUILDING

Creating an enabling impact-friendly environment, from local capacity building to helping shape more supportive regulatory policies.

SCALING DEMAND AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPACT INVESTMENT SUBSECTORS

Supporting the building of a healthy pipeline of investable opportunities, including earlier-stage initiatives and innovations: a growing number of impact entrepreneurs are innovating to tackle pressing social and environmental issues around the world – from access to basic health, energy and financial services to youth unemployment and education.

CLOSING THE GAP

Fostering innovation by a wide range of intermediaries, across different asset classes, to allocate capital to projects delivering social good as well as financial returns. Intermediaries are an essential solution to the mismatch between demand and supply of impact capital. They could bring in innovative solutions such as de-risking, guarantees or blended finance to crowd-in other investors.

CATALYZING SUPPLY OF CAPITAL

Mobilizing pools of capital such as pension funds or retail investors and co-create impact investment structures meeting their requirements.
